Introducing

Randy Beasterfield

A talented recording engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality sound experiences. With years of experience and expertise in electrical engineering, Randy ensures that every recording is of the highest standard.

The Beast Begins

A magical spark ignited in Randy Beasterfield at the age of 3, sitting behind a full-size kick drum, keeping time for his family's bluegrass jam band. Even coffee cans became instruments in the hands of a young maestro. Randy's journey began here, in the rhythm of Idaho's heartland.

Randy's teenage years were filled with musical experimentation. From traditional instruments to the back of a classmate's chair, he found rhythm and music in everything. His passion was more than a youthful fascination; it was destiny calling.

Learning from Legends

In Utah, Randy's musical ambition found kindred spirits. Playing with bands like Never Cast Anchor, he encountered legendary producers like Matt Winegar. Every untracked moment was a lesson, fueling Randy's love for recording and inspiring him to master Pro Tools.

The Big Idea Studios Era

A few years later, Randy was recording With Avenue of Embers at Big Idea Studios in Utah. During pre-production, his bandmate Jake Bowen, who worked at the studio,  would pass along the sessions to Randy, who was slowly mastering Pro Tools. This was where the magic began to take shape.

Finding His Passion

Randy was later recruited to play drums for the metal band Kohabit. The band dissolved at the conclusion of a Costa Rican tour, prompting Randy to move back to Idaho in order to plan his next move.

The Beast Awakens: Starting Beast Recordings

While in Idaho, he began building his recording arsenal, eventually embarking on his first recording project, a full-length of his own material. The multi-talented instrumentalist now had an album to his credit. In the years since, Randy has written for and recorded countless bands, proving himself to be a top-shelf musician, songwriter, and producer. Folk artists, metal bands, dance-pop and hard rock projects, even country upstarts have all experienced the magic of being taken to the next level while in the Beast Recordings studio.

The Musician Behind the Magic

Not just a producer and engineer, Randy is a masterful musician with almost two decades of experience. His beats resonate in albums like Atilast (drums/bass) or Visioneer(drums). Whether on drums or bass, Randy's touch is unmistakable.
